Bad Words

There are several words that we do not say in our house. And we are constantly preaching this to our children. A big no no at our house is to take the Lord’s name in vain. This is SO difficult because our children hear it EVERYWHERE! Jackson will kindly inform anyone that says those words, “that we do NOT say those words!”

A few weeks ago, we went home and Jason preached at the church where my parents and grandparents attend. We started out singing several songs and then we came to a song I hadn’t sung in a long time – Unto Thee O Lord. So there we were singing along and then Jackson piped up (quite loudly I might add) and said, “Mommy, we don’t say those words!”

What’s a mom to do?

Unto thee O Lord do I lift up my soul.
Unto thee O Lord do I lift up my soul.

Chorus
O my God I trust in Thee.
Let me not be ashamed,
Let not my enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait on Thee be ashamed.
Yea, let none that wait on Thee be ashamed.

Remember not the sins of my youth.
Remember not the sins of my youth.
