My First Book Signing

I had so much fun yesterday afternoon. Abby Kate and I headed down to Birmingham with my sister-in-law, Tara, and my niece, Hope. We arrived at Books-A-Million around 5:00 and got our tickets for our place in line – number 223 and 224! We didn’t realize that they were giving out tickets the night before, but we wouldn’t have been able to get there that early anyways. The room quickly filled to capacity and we heard The Pioneer Woman give a quick talk and then the waiting began. We ended up waiting 4 1/2 hours to get our pictures and to have our cookbooks signed, but we had so much fun spending that time together.

And, yes, I would do it all over again!

We have our book and we are sitting in for a long wait.

Sweet cousins - Hope and Abby Kate
These girls were troopers to stay up so late and wait so patiently with us.

The Pioneer Woman remembered my sweet sister-in-law, Tara and actually got out of her seat to give her a hug. Tara has a cooking website. Be sure to stop by and check it out. You can also find her on facebook.

Abby Kate and me with The Pioneer Woman!

She was SO sweet with Abby Kate. Abby Kate wasn’t the least bit shy and really enjoyed being there. PW was asking Abby Kate what her name was and how old she was…She got so caught up in talking to Abby Kate about her name that she accidentally personalized it to her, too. We thought that was pretty neat.

My second personalized and autographed Pioneer Woman Cookbook! I can't wait to try out these new recipes.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We are going next week in our home town. I googled Ree Drummond signing to see if I could found out what it was going to be like and how long etc. My signing numbers are right there where yours were so that really gave me an idea of our wait. I can’t imagine what it will be like. Our local book store has rented a theater. The first 500 will get in for the presentation, and they have given out about 1000 signing numbers! (They started giving them out last month.) I am so glad I am not much later then the number we have, I don’t think I could stay up that long!
