Thanksgiving 2012

We have enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving! My parents and grandmother were able to come down yesterday afternoon. We enjoyed some poppyseed chicken casserole before heading out to church. This morning I woke up and got to work on our turkey. I’ve been cooking since Tuesday and today was my BIG cooking day. My dad asked for sausage balls for breakfast this morning, so that is what we had. While everyone munched on breakfast, I got to work on 2 fudge pies and 1 cream pie. We spent the better part of the morning in the kitchen and I loved every bit of it. We had a pretty laid back day and Jackson didn’t even get out of his pajamas. We feasted on turkey, dressing, fresh corn, mac n’ cheese, green beans, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, pickles, olives, fresh rolls from Becker’s Bakery, and some sweet tea with lemon. Yum! It was fantastic. And, I am SO thankful that I had a double oven. It definitely made the cooking process more manageable. Now, as for the room in the refrigerator….

I am thankful for SO much! God has blessed me beyond measure and for that I am truly thankful.
