Spring Break Fun

We have thoroughly enjoyed our time off of school the past 9 days. It is always so nice to rest up a bit and spend time together away from the hustle and bustle of our daily routine. We started out our break last weekend with a trip to the bowling alley with our friends. The kids have never been bowling, but we had a blast. Joshua kept referring to bowling as “spinning”. They each did well. Jackson scored the highest between the kids with a 94. Jason still has a swollen finger from bowling, but I think that we’ll do it again. My grandfather is in the Bowling Hall of Fame for bowling a 299 and a 300 in league play. Unfortunately, I don’t think any of us got his good bowling genes.

We visited with my parents for the first part of the week. Jason and I were able to help out and spend time with my mom and dad. The kids were so excited to see Nana and Paw Paw. We made cookies, did some shopping, and dyed Easter eggs with Nana. Our time was well spent and we enjoyed every minute of it.

Yesterday we had so much fun. We emptied out the kids piggy banks and headed to the bank. We opened up savings accounts for the kids. They signed their names on their official savings account and then waited in line to deposit their money into their accounts. They felt so big and were so excited to have their own accounts. We then headed over to Chuck E. Cheese’s (with the rest of town) to spend some tokens that we have had lying around the house. The twins also brought in their report cards and each received 15 tokens for their grades. We were there for about an hour and then ran to Costco. Afterwards we did a little browsing at Larry’s and then called it a day.

Today, we headed up to church for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Joshua did not want to hunt eggs and it just about broke my heart. We talked him in to hunting, but I doubt we will be able to convince him next year. We had so much fun and enjoyed the nice weather this morning.

Joshua had a couple of baseball practices this week. Abby Kate and I got pedicures. And this afternoon, I finally used a gift card for a massage that I’ve had on hand for quite awhile now. This week has been so much fun. I’ve felt rested, relaxed, blessed, and pampered this week. But, the best part of this week was the time spent with our family.
