Up Into The Clouds – Day 6

Today we drove up America’s highest paved road to the summit of Mount Evans! I will admit that I was scared and the higher we climbed, the more scared I became. The drive was incredible! The views were stunning! But it was terrifying! I kept telling Jason that it looked like we were about to drive off of the mountain with all of the curves and hairpin turns.

We stopped off at Echo Lake to visit the gift shop before taking the Mount Evans Scenic Byway. Along the way, we stopped at Summit Lake and took a short walk out to the Chicago Lake Overlook. We continued up the road to the summit of Mount Evans before getting out to take in the beauty from up top. The boys hiked the last 130 feet of Mount Evans to a height of 14,264.

We really did enjoy this beautiful drive and the 14,000 feet views of the mountains. We serve a very awesome God!
